HBCU Buzz
From Hampton University to Howard University, Morgan State University to Morehouse College, our Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are testaments to African American achievement and activism.
They reflect the determination of generations of black Americans to receive a quality education, even in the face of profound discrimination.
Our Concept
HBCU alumni include prominent figures in American history such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Booker T. Washington, Zora Neale Hurston, Thurgood Marshall, George Washington Carver, and many more.
The historic buildings on HBCU campuses, many of which were built and designed by African American architects, also hold a collection of stories and artifacts that reflect the important legacy of the black educational experience. These colleges and universities deserve protection and preservation, to ensure that they will continue to inspire and educate future generations. Grant programs through the Historic Preservation Fund help preserve vital pieces of the African American story. They enable preservation projects at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other historic sites that represent our country’s pursuit of civil rights, equality, and higher education.
Partnering with HBCU Buzz, we constructed a digital marketing campaign to promote the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s #TelltheFullHistory campaign targeting friends and family of the HBCU community utilizing our banner ads, social media platforms, email blasts & web post.
